History of the Schleich brand The company was founded by Friedrich Schleich in 1935. At first, it was a family business that produced plastic parts for industry. In addition, in 1946 Schleich developed dolls made of wire and wood

velvet top, which brought the first Schleich toy to the market.

In 1950, the product range consisted of only 13 numbers, and seven years later it grew to almost 70. Already in 1955, the popular Walt Disney™ "Bambi" and "Pluto" figures were part of the range and are still made of foam.
